PaRaB 2009 - Annual Techno-Cultural Festival celebrated

PaRaB - the Passion, the first annual cultural event of HDF School of Management (HDF SOM) was celebrated from 5th March to7th March, 2009 at its Campus. The function was inaugurated by the Chairman and Secretary of HDF Trust and the Director, HDF SOM.

The three day function witnessed a redefined vigor among the students, faculty and staff. All of them celebrated the function with high spirit. PaRaB witnessed several managerial and fun-filled events such as Biz Quiz, Mock Press, Ad Mad, Dark Trap, Extempore, Sand Race and also games like Cricket, Volleyball and Badminton. Students were the coordinators for each of these events, where as faculty, senior staff and guests were the judges.

There were also events such as fashion parade and solo dance, in addition to guest performances by the kids of HDF Family.

The function was closed with the encouraging words by the Dr Loknath Rath, Managing Director, Salva Resources and the winners were awarded HDF memento. Local community leaders were present in the closing ceremony.

Being the first year, the function was kept in house. We have the plan to conduct the week-long PaRaB in the next year in the last week of December, where various B- Schools will be invited to participate.

PaRaB means function, ado, feast, a volume of the Mahabharata, the full-moon, the new-moon, bodily gesture and expression. PaRaB is identified with the local culture and associated with the larger sections of the indigenous community. PaRaB is not merely a cultural function. It is an integration of values, beliefs and assumptions of HDF in alignment with the state, market and civil society.
